Placement Test

The Placement Test tab runs a real, one-off test email through this inbox's warmup campaign to a panel of seed inboxes across major providers, then reports exactly where it landed — separate from the passive placement & reputation trend chart, which only tracks your regular warmup traffic.

This tab requires warmup to already be running on the inbox — if it hasn't been started yet, the tab shows "Start warmup to run placement tests" instead.

The wallet

A row of three stats sits above the test list, pulled from Mailivery's own account-level credit balance:

This balance is shared across your whole Mailivery account, not tracked per-inbox or per-workspace inside ForgeSend itself — running a test on any inbox draws from the same pool. When Available reaches 0, Run new test is disabled with a tooltip explaining there are no placement test credits remaining this cycle.

Running a test

Run new test opens a form for Test name, Subject, and Email body — the actual content that gets sent to the seed inboxes.

The same compose form also shows a lightweight, client-side score panel — word count, link count, spam-trigger word flags with suggested alternatives — as you type. That panel is a local heuristic only; it never gets sent to Mailivery and is separate from the content-analysis score returned in the results below.

Creating a test is on-demand only — there's no scheduling or recurring tests. A new test starts in Still processing; results aren't synchronous, so you come back and check on it (see below) once Mailivery has finished processing.

Test list and status

Every test you've run for this inbox is listed with its name, when it was created, and a status pill:

Still processing
  • Still processing (amber) — the test is pending; click Check results to poll Mailivery again once you expect it's done
  • `{inbox count}` / `{total}` inbox — completed, colored by the share that landed in the inbox: green at 80%+, amber at 50%+, red below that. The total is the sum of all five result categories (inbox, spam, promotions, blocked, not delivered), since Mailivery doesn't return a single combined total field
  • Failed (red) — the test didn't complete

Content analysis

B+

Score: 84

  • Shorten the subject line to under 50 characters
  • Reduce link count to improve spam score

Three sections, in order:

  • Five stat tiles — raw counts for Inbox, Spam, Promotions, Blocked, and Not delivered
  • Domain health — blacklists checked — unlike the Deliverability tab's blacklist monitor, which only shows an aggregate count, this section names each blacklist checked with its own Listed / Clean / Unknown pill
  • Content analysis — a letter grade, a numeric score line, and a bullet list of specific recommendations for the tested content — this is Mailivery's own server-side analysis of the email you sent, separate from the local spam-word panel shown while composing the test
